HMRC issue June ‘Employer Bulletin’

HMRC have issued the latest Employer Bulletin – ‘Your route to the latest in payroll news‘. In general, these bulletins contain lots of useful information to help employers meet their payroll obligations, such as updates on forthcoming changes to the rules and guidance in dealing with particular payroll issues.

This edition has some useful information and reminders around filing P11D’s and payment deadlines on page 2 as well as an update on the National Living and Minimum Wage increases that came into effect on the 1 April 2018.

Also featured in June’s bulletin, on page 8, is guidance on what an employer can do to monitor and raise mental health standards amongst their staff, including information on tax reliefs available for things like counselling or medical treatment and a list of six simple mental health core standards that employers can uphold to encourage an open, more transparent working environment.
