What if I live in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland?

Regional differences

Scotland and Northern Ireland both have their own rules and procedures for direct payments from social care. We have tried to indicate in this part of the website where there may be differences.

Wales generally follow the rules as in England for direct payments from social care although there are some small differences.

Because of these differences it is important that you check with your own Local Authority/Council to find out what the rules are in your area.
